Happy Mother's Day

Happy late Mother's Day to all women out there.

It was a nice day, Ryan was suppose to work the night before and sleep on Mother's day. But he got canceled. No on call or anything just canceled. It made my night. So as usual Ryan got me some of the flowers for the yard. (We haven't started on the front yet, since we have to rip out a tree.) And from the kids they are getting me a zoo pass to take them. I am so excited. I didn't have one for a whole year and can't wait to go back.

Mother's day morning I didn't get to sleep in. We have 9am church. Also just before 7am Brooklynn came in and said Happy Mother's Day and gave me a drawing. (Ryan was still asleep, I couldn't believe she remembered it was Mother's day) It was very sweet, I thanked her and told her I love her and she could go play in her room. I needed a little more beauty sleep. After church we got to see both Ryan's and my mom Sunday night and had a nice time with them and our families.

P.S. I am so lucky to have such amazing kids that I am very blessed with and very thankful for them both. They are so special and I love them so much. Thanks Berkie and Cam. I love you! Thanks Ryan for being an amazing husband and dad.

Cinco de Mayo

I forgot to put this on here. On May 5th, for lunch we celebrated Cinco de Mayo. We had some Quesadillas, chips and dips and a treat. Brooklynn wore her Mexican Fiesta dress.

Cam joined in on our lunch and he loves dipping things. So he enjoyed dipping his Quesadillas in Ranch and Chips in a cheese sauce. YUM!!!

3 Years later

3 years ago we were so lucky to finally have Brooklynn sealed to us. It was such a special day. She looked like such an angel.

Every year we celebrate and go downtown to the temple grounds and spend time as a family. We are so blessed to have Cameron who became a part of our family 18 months ago and is also sealed to us.

We also made it a tradition to go eat at the Lion House every year. Brooklynn has the best memory and kept talking about a lion stamp that they gave her. So she asked the lady and she knew exactly what Brooklynn was talking about.

What a little cheeser. He is so funny and a joy.

Both kids after we enjoyed our yummy meal. I am so lucky to be a mom to two amazing little ones.

Brooklynn loves going to the temple and she was so excited to visit and see it again.

Brooklynn kept telling me she had to get a picture on the stairs by the door, so she and her daddy did just that.

It got a little chilly so Cam was all bundled up.

We had a special gift for the kids to remind them how much we love them and how special they are to us.

Cameron got a Tigger statue, cause he is always bouncing and we love his fun personality. Cam- never change who you are, we will always love you. Brooklynn got a princess statue, because she is our princess and we want her to know that anything is possible. Berkie- You are evidence of what comes from Faith and Obedience. You are our sweet princess.

Stop being so Lazy...

Since Brooklynn started walking we noticed that she walked kinda funny. As the overprotective mom that I am I talked to her doctor about my concerns and he checked her legs and hips and said it could just be that she is just learning to walk still. So I ignored it for awhile. Well I really started noticing it more when she was 3 and her younger cousins would run around and go up and down stairs with no problem. She can't go up and down stairs with out either holding my hand or holding on to something to steady herself. Even a little bump in the grass or sidewalk she always stops and steps over things. I knew that something was off. Brooklynn also gets really high fevers and so we were sent to a rhuematologist to rule out Rhuematoid Arthritis. (Thankfully, she doesn't have that) Brooklynn started going to Physical Therapy. They found that Brooklynn does have very tight muscles especially on the one leg that she doesn't bare down on. She started doing exercises at home. I still wasn't convinced that tight muscles was her problem. I went to a different Physical Therapist to get another opinion. He agreed with me and wasn't really sure why she does that, but the tight muscle shouldn't affect her as much as it was. I didn't know what to think. Ryan was talking to a girl at his work about it and she told him, same thing happened to her daughter and found out she had lazy eye.

We went in to Brooklynn's doctor and she took the eye test. Her right eye (blue/brown) was perfect got all the pictures correct. They moved on to the left eye and she couldn't tell them anything. Knowing Brooklynn you could tell she wasn't faking it. She kept rubbing her eye and trying to move it to the other eye. So we got reffered to an Opthamologist. Of course it took 2 months to get in, but after a few short tests. They knew that she has a lazy eye. The right eye is perfect 20/20. It now makes so much sense, the perceptions was off and it was hard for her to tell how high things were.

So my girl got glasses to try to correct the left eye. She will wear these for 5 weeks and go back to the doctor and see if there is some improvement. If not much than she will have to wear a patch on her right eye to get the other eye to start working. Brooklynn has the most beautiful eyes and hopefully she doesn't have to wear the patch, but I want her eyes to start working. Depending on how it goes she may not have to wear glasses forever. She still looks dang cute in them though.

Poor Berkie is already starting to get a head ache from them and so we are giving her an hour or two break a day for a week and see how things go. Along with Tylenol and Motrin. I love her pink/purple glasses and her gold Scooby Doo ones. What a babe!

Cam's 18 month Stats

Height: 33.1 inches (75%)
Height: 24.15 lbs (35%)
Head: 19 inches (70%)

My little baby is now 18 months and getting so big. He now goes to nursery at church and could care less if we leave. He loves it. Although when we pick him up he is happy to see us. Not because he wants to be with us, but that we will take him home and put him in bed.

One of Cameron's favorite things to do is bug Brooklynn. He is a big tease and always being silly. He also loves doing whatever Brooklynn does. When we say bedtime prayers we always do it in his room (since he goes to bed first). So we go in his room read a couple stories and then say a prayer. For bedtime prayers Brooklynn always lays on the floor and folds her arms over her eyes, Cam copies her. A few times I have caught him playing and he will just lay down and get in his laying down prayer position and start saying a prayer to himself. (In his own little babbling language.) It is so cute.

Cameron always has to have a little bowl of dry cereal before bedtime. If I forget, he reminds me. Cam really loves to eat anything and everything all day long.

He is a big helper and loves to help me clean. He will use the broom, vacuum and even go get out a bunch of wipes and start washing the walls. (just like his sis.)

Cameron doesn't really have a favorite toy. Not that he has too many favorites, because he doesn't really like toys. He prefers remote controls, any type of real phone, video game controllers, computer keyboard or mouse. Really anything that he is not suppose to play with.

My boy is very sweet and always giving hugs and kisses. If he has to say sorry he is ready to give a big hug and kiss. If Brooklynn hurts him and I tell her to tell him sorry, he stops crying and goes to her and gives her a hug and kiss first. What a loving boy I have.

Cam has so many other cute fun characteristics (way too many to name). I love him so much and am so thankful that he is part of our family. I love his personality and craziness he brings to our home. He sure is a busy boy and keeps me after him all day long, but wouldn't change it for the world.

Floors

Here is our new flooring. It was a lot of hard work that Ryan, his dad and brother Eric put in. Thanks guys. I love it so much and it looks great. What a great husband to do all this for our house.

I am so glad to have nice floor to enjoy. It goes from our front entry way back to our dining and kitchen. Next is new carpet in our living room.

Easter

We had a great Easter. We were able to spend the most of the morning home together watching Conference. Although I enjoy going to church in new Easter clothes, it was nice just being home as a family. Especially when Brooklynn loves conference and she acctually listens and even knows some of the Apostle's names.

At the Conference break we went to my mom's house for our Annual Adult and Kids Easter Egg hunt. As usual I got the least amount of eggs. (I am not very competitive with that kind of stuff) It has always been between Ryan, Josh and Terra. Jake and Johana do well but have never won. But Johana is getting up there now. She gets a little wild with everyone else. Ryan won first place and Johana came in second by only two eggs. Jake was really sick and he stayed in his room so Camille didn't come either. My grandpa took over for Jake and Brooklynn looked for Camille's eggs. Grandpa got half of what I got. Which is pretty good for a 90 year old. Brooklynn on the other hand only got Camille 4. We had fun and it is always fun to see what we get. I got mostly money and candy, but I did score a couple movies and movie tickets. Ryan got a couple gift cards and a movie and money too.

Afterwards we ate lunch and got to watch Conference again. Then we headed over to the Oldroyd's for a nice dinner and had the kids do their Easter Egg hunt. What a great Easter.

Here are the kids Easter baskets. Brooklynn found hers in the first place she looked and then she started looking for Cameron's in the second place she looked. Awesome searcher.

My mom got a little too creative making Easter Eggs this year. It was funny once you saw the cracked egg and read all the sayings.

Berkie running around looking for eggs at the Dennis egg hunt.

Cam didn't do so well. Every time he got an egg he took it out of his basket and threw it back. What a silly boy.

Berkie giving her cousin Caleb a little help with some eggs.

All four Dennis grandkids together. It was hard to get a picture. Cameron and Zack just don't sit still for long.

We then did our annual Peep wars. The pink one is mine and the other is Johana's. You put it in the microwave and see which one stabs the other. Johana's was already leaning the opposite direction.

Which helped mine win. Wahoo! Overall Josh's won the grand prize.

Oldroyd kids not so patiently waiting for our Easter egg hunt.

Brooklynn searching for some eggs in the doll house.

Connor found the gold egg.(or at least half a gold egg) It was the only egg with money in it and he got $4.

Slacker...

Okay so I am a slacker. I haven't posted in almost a month. I haven't talked about anything going on. Put Easter pictures on here. I didn't even post about our special anniversary yesterday. Well I kinda have an excuse...

My house looked like this...

It now looks like this...

I even had a hole in my floor...

Luckily this weekend it will be finished and look very nice. So stay tuned later...
