Two weeks old

Today Cameron is two weeks old. Can you believe that he wouldn't even be here yet? Well I am sure glad he is here.
Here was Cameron at his doctor's appointment. This is our new pediatrician. I really like him so far. It was so hard losing Brooklynn's old doctor. He went off to South America to work and comes back a few times a year and works at Primary Children's Medical Center. What a great doctor he is. But so far I really like the new one.

Cameron is back up to his birth weight now at 6 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 inches long. Everything looks great and is a healthy little boy.

Now that Brooklynn is getting better she got to hold Cameron again. It's almost been a whole week and it was driving her crazy. I sure love my little kiddos.

The best day ever

I just want to share some things about my day yesterday. It was my 27th birthday and of course when you get older birthdays aren't as exciting. It makes me think about my Grandpa Budd's 22nd birthday in 1941 he had been drafted in WWII and was far from his family and fiance.
On the day that he was given life he was learning how to end one's life. It was a horrible day that he will never forget. I never want a birthday like that. When I woke up I didn't even remember it was my birthday and didn't think 'Wahoo, it's my birthday' All I was thinking was 'It is cold and I don't want to get up to feed Cameron.' But I did. So about an hour later Brooklynn came out in the living room and only a couple minutes after that so did Ryan. They both told me Happy Birthday. I couldn't say anything and was trying to hide my face, but Ryan noticed that I was crying. Of course Ryan was worried something was wrong. I told him that I was happy. (Guys don't understand that you can cry when you are happy, Ryan should be use to my tears though.) He trusted me and left it at that. So what was going through my head? Well, when they told me happy birthday I realized how different this birthday was. Normally I get so excited and it is my day. This year all I wanted this year for my birthday was a healthy baby. (I wanted a Halloween baby) Well I got him and I was just thinking that although my life isn't perfect, it was just as I wanted it. I have my sweet, silly little girl and a cute new baby boy. Not to mention the best husband ever. Right now I wouldn't change my life for anything and it just made me so happy that I started crying. All day I was very emotional, I cried again on the way to the grocery store just thinking about my little family we have.

Brooklynn was so excited when I got home she said "I have a present and she ran to get it. She picked out this Goofy and the two chipmunks all by herself. Right after she gave it to me she said. "Will you open this for me now?" It was cute and very sweet, of course I cried.

This is what Ryan got me and the waterworks came again. I am just so thankful for my little family we have. Both Brooklynn and Cameron came to us in very different ways but they are both so special to me. And after 8 1/2 years together I love Ryan more every day. He works so hard to take care of us.

Ryan asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday and I really just wanted to be together as a family. Ryan got us dinner from Applebees and then we made caramel apples.

Brooklynn helped make the caramel.

Decorating them was fun. Brooklynn had a blast with it.

Mine is the smiley one, Brooklynn's is the crazy one and Ryan left his plain. They were very yummy!

What a wonderful day I had being with my family. We have gone through a lot in the last 8 years with medical things and infertility but at this moment I wish I could slow time down and take it all in. I am just so thankful for everything/everyone in my life.
Also I have to mention that my family gave me a nice celebration on Sunday with some really cute gifts and fun games. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, I had a wonderful day.

I survived

Yesterday was Ryan's first day back to work. I was really nervous being home alone for 13 hours with a new baby who had to eat every 2-3 hours, Brooklynn who was sick and needed lots of attention and myself who also have been feeling sick with a head cold. But I did it.

Ryan helped out so much, he would read stories with Brooklynn.

Ry holding Cameron and playing video games with him. (of course, he love the XBOX)

Ryan also helped clean too. Well I survived with out him. I went to the store, cleaned my house, Took Cameron's pictures and even took Brooklynn to a Halloween carnival. We had a good day. Now we will see how next week goes. Ryan is planning on working 4 12 hour shifts in a row. It might not go as well but we shall see.

This is the pictures I took of Cameron. But I still haven't made the birth announcements yet. Maybe next week.

My new car

Well we got our new car. We were going to wait a few months having just one car but a great deal came along and we took it. We now have a 2005 Nissan XTerra. I really like it. It is different driving such a big car but I am very happy with what we chose.

(sorry the pictures are not that great.)

One week old

Peek-a-boo I am one week old today!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it has already been a week. Already time is going by way too fast.

He is so cute, but he is already changing, it is so scary. I remember when Brooklynn was born. Time needs to go a little slower.

Ryan is such a good Daddy and can't wait until Cameron grows and can play baseball and ride bikes and do fun boy stuff with him. But I need him to stay little for awhile.

Muffin Tin Monday- The New Baby

Yesterday for Muffin Tin Monday we read the book The New Baby. I couldn't think of any creative baby type foods, but Brooklynn calls Spagetti O's Baby Scetti, so she had that.

She still loves her Muffin Tin Mondays. I have to try so hard to keep up on it. But so far so good.

Brooklynn loves Baby Cameron and on Saturday they were twins in their Camo. Every single day Brooklynn holds him for at least 30 minutes. She is a great big sister.

Cameron Ryan Oldroyd

Cameron Ryan
October 15,2008
7:57pm
6lbs 6 oz.
20 inches long

Well as you can see our little boy was born. Yep, a little bit early. Last week at my apointment I was showing signs of Preeclampsia (Toxemia). So I went back the next day and the next and my blood pressure kept going up and there was still protein in my urine. Not to mention my hands and feet were getting more and more tingly/swollen. So Monday they said to wait a day and come to my 37 week apointment on Wednesday. Tuesday Ryan and I figured that I would be put on bed rest so we got as much done as we could packed our bag, cleaned up his room, set up the bassinet. So Wednesday morning I go to my apointment and Dr. Twede is talking to me about how my blood pressure was now 150/95 and this time the protein was higher and there was blood in my urine. I was sitting there waiting for the words "okay you are going on bed rest". Instead he said... well you and the baby's health is more important and we will have to start you. I was thinking "okay that is fine" expecting sometime next week. NOPE... instead he said "Well how about like an hour?" We were shocked.

I immediately started to cry, I suddenly realized that this was it, ready or not. I was so scared. So we went home grabbed our bag and Brooklynn's bag and dropped Brooklynn off at her aunt Allyson's house. This picture was taken at Allyson's house on the way to the hospital

We went to the hospital around 12:30pm and got checked in got the IV started and got the pitocin going. I was already having some contractions but couldn't really feel them yet. Dr. Twede came and broke my water around 1:30 I was only a 2 but 90% effaced. Ryan and his mom went to get lunch and about 20 minutes later I started really feeling the contractions. Finally after I couldn't handle the pain anymore I got the epidural and that was wonderful. Almost immediately. They checked me and I was already a 7 1/2. So we just hung out for a few hours. Around 6:30 they checked me and I was a 10 and so we started pushing. Suddenly my heart rate went up to the 160's so we had to stop for a little bit and they gave me some oxegen. But then got started again. Our little guy was born at 7:57 pm.

When they laid him on my tummy I just started crying and the first thing I noticed was he had his daddy's full lips. What a cutie. But then they took him and cleaned him off and weighed him etc. When he was first born he had one big cry but they couldn't get him to cry anymore. He had a bunch of gunk in his lungs and they gave him shots and did everything they could to get him to cry. He was just so mellow. Everything ended up being fine and he'll cry now when he is hungary or you mess with him too much, but for the most part he is very mellow.

So outside the room we had Brooklynn come in first, she was so excited. Then we had grandparents. Well outside the room everyone was waiting for their turn to come and Brooklynn went out and decided to get Tyler. So this little 2 year old got to see the baby before anyone else. Then we had most of our siblings there and some neices and nephews. It was very nice and special to share this with our family.

We got home Friday afternoon and are both doing great. I feel really good. Brooklynn loves him so much and can't wait to wake up and hold him and give him kisses.

Now we are noticing more things about his looks. He has Ryan's dark hair and definately has Ryan's nose and lips (the lips are also from his grandma Oldroyd) and my chin, (that is a Dennis trait). And he has two dimples on the his cheeks (like me) and another by his lip (just like Brooklynn's). He also gets his sneezes and gag reflex from his Grandpa Oldroyd. He gags very easily, the nurses were surprised at how much he gagged. And the sneezes... he will sneeze like 7 times in a row just like his grandpa. What a good little mixture from both families.

Thanks for all the prayers and love and support throughout the years and this pregnancy. We are so happy to have Brooklynn and Cameron in our lives.

I love the fall

Fall is my favorite season. I know, Ryan always tells me he doesn't like it cause it is cold, rainy and everything dies. BUT... I love the crisp breeze and the smell in the air. Walking on crisp leaves (sorry Jeff I know you can't stand the sound of crunching leaves), sipping hot chocolate, cuddling in a blanket watching movies and listening to the rain. And that just means the holidays are coming... I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. And it does help that I was born in fall so I grew up always having fun Halloween parties. I just can't wait to get to these holidays and spend time with family. Let loose on Halloween, talk about all I am grateful for, buy people presents and remembering our Savior. That is why I love fall, it just means all these wonderful things are coming.

Well yesterday I went and took a few pictures of my neices and nephew.

Alex looks so old, I can't even believe it. She looks so pretty.

Kassie is a little cheeser. Always smiling big and posing for the camera. Such a doll.

I can't believe how big Connor is getting. What a fun boy.

Savannah is silly and doesn't sit still for a second. This was about all we could get of her. But still very cute!

Of course Brooklynn as well.

Princesses are Pretty

This week for Muffin Tin Monday was Princesses are Pretty. To get ready we decided on Sunday to have pedicures and paint our nails.

I didn't know what princesses ate so it wasn't anything special. Pink milk, Quesadilas, yogurt, chips, carrots with Ranch and a brownie.

Yum! At least this princess liked it.

Then after for our activity Brooklynn made a candy necklace and bracelet. She was really good at it.

Such a pretty princess, she looks kinda bored though. I have to add that she HAD to wear her Cinderella dress. (She calls it the Cinderella dress because it is blue, I think)

Wedding

Last week my dad got married to a very nice woman named Gladys. We first had a luncheon and then the wedding and reception that night. It is really nice to see my dad happy and having a new start. I am glad we were all there to support him.
