Muffin Tin Circus and Park

PhotobucketThis week for Muffin Tin Monday the theme was Circus. So since I bought these cute new muffin cups we made cupcakes the night before. As you can tell I am not a great cake decorater, but I worked with what I had. Lately I have had a lot of fun making cupcakes. Maybe someday I will attempt fondant. Brooklynn of course helped make them and eat the frosting after we were done. Even though it looks like a kid did it, I made the elephant, lion and pig. And Brooklynn made the bear all by herself. Then we just decorated the leftover cupcakes too.

PhotobucketFor lunch she had a corndog, pretzels, popcorn, candy and of course the cupcake. Cameron joined in the fun this week and I just used an ice tray. He couldn't pick up his food very well so he figured out all he had to do was dump it out. It was funny that I acctually caught him doing it with a picture.

Wahoo for Ryan!

Prepare for lots of pictures...

Photobucket
This past weekend Ryan ran the Park City Marathon. We went to stay in a condo my mom's work owns and my mom came along. (That is where Cameron got his shiner.) So we came to the marathon at the time Ryan had told us, but there were so many runners finished. I was worried we missed him, but I found out that those were the 1/2 marathon finishers. So we went to the end to cheer for Ryan. Suddenly I heard someone say here the the 2nd place marathoner. I looked up to cheer and suddenly it was Ryan. I was so surprised I barely got a picture of him.

Here is Cameron running around trying to be like daddy. Yay for Daddy!

Photobucket
Brooklynn was trying to give thumbs up for her daddy, but she kinda looked like Elaine on Seinfield trying to dance.

Photobucket
Brooklynn was reaching for Ryan to congratulate him. We were all so happy for him.

Photobucket
Finally Brooklynn giving Ryan loves. It was very emotional. I have cried at every single marathon, it is such an accomplishment and I am always so proud of him. I can't believe that he got 2nd place over all. There were over 450 runners too. Way to go Ryan. He gets a trophy but doesn't get it until next week. Ry I love you and think you are amazing and am so proud of you and all your accomplishments.

Photobucket
Mommy and Cam swimming in the baby pool. Relaxing after a day of the marathon.Cameron had a blast.

Photobucket
Berkie loves the pool and is always so proud of herself that she can now do it by herself. Good job Berkie, we sure love you.

Photobucket
When my mom took this picture she said "Grandma watch!" Ryan put his arms out for her to swim to him and she said. "Dad, I can do it by myself." So silly.

Photobucket
We went shopping at the outlets and usually it is good for Ryan to walk around so his legs don't get too stiff. About half way through, Ryan couldn't really walk anymore. Brooklynn sure had fun and found these huge shoes at the Nike store.

Crash and Tumbler

When Cameron was wearing his helmet Ryan's dad nicknamed him Crash. I thought it wouldn't last long because he only had to wear it for a few months. I was wrong, Cameron gets a new bruise and bump and scrape at least once a day. At church last Sunday he was trying to run and tripped and skidded on the rough carpet and scraped his nose up. OUCH! Just in this picture is 5 ouchies. Also today he just got a huge bruise on his forehead (not pictured). I guess that is what will happen when he tries to climb on everything. He can even climb up the slide in our back yard. I have a feeling there will be a few trips to the ER with this kid.

This is what happens when my boy is left alone with his very girly princessy sister. Cute huh?

We noticed that Brooklynn walked a little funny when she was only 1-1/2 years old, but thought it was just because she was learning to walk. We took our concerns a few times to her doctor and her hips seemed fine and he just told us to watch it. She always wanted us to hold her and would complain that her legs were tired. We just thought she was being lazy at first, but I noticed it getting worse and she was starting to even complain about pain. Brooklynn is 3 1/2 and cannot walk down stairs with out holding a hand or a railing. If she doesn't hold on her left legs buckles underneath her. Her doctor referred us to a physical therapist to look and see. She went for the first time this week and we found a few little things. First her left leg doesn't rotate to the left all the way like it should. Also her left foot is pronating and both legs the muscles are very tight, especially the hamstring. They think that because Brooklynn is pretty tall her bones are growing but her muscles haven't caught up yet. (I guess that can be common.)

They started Brooklynn on some exercises 2x a day and then we are going to physical therapy once a week for a few weeks to see how it is. After that they will assess it again and see what we will do from there. She loves her exercises and likes to add a little ballet in there too. I do everything with her so we have a lot of fun. Hopefully it will get better and she will feel better and have no problems.

My big boy

Cameron had his 9 month appointment a few days ago. (We got in a little late). I can't believe that in almost 2 months he is going to be 1 year old. Time just flies too fast.

Height- 29.5 inches long (75-80%)

Weight- 20 pounds (25-30%)

Cameron is pretty tall and his weight has dropped a little from the charts. His doctor isn't real worried, it could be all his moving around. Also I keep getting cysts on one side and that has caused some feeding problems. Since I only have about 2 more months to nurse he should be fine. But his doc gave me the okay to once a day start giving him whole milk to supplement a little and get him use to it.

Cam's favorite things...

Baby food- peas or sweet potatoes

Regular food- kix cereal

Drink- milk straight from the tap

Treat- mini marshmellows cut up.

Toys- Cars (he loves making the noise) also he loves walking around with a golf club.

Naps- cute cuddly puppy, he loves to snuggle it.

Book- What are you talking about, he can't sit long enough for a book, but I like to read him Kiss Good Night.

Games- He thinks it is funny to stand in the bath and fall so all the water splashes, it freaks mommy out. When I say No, he just laughs at me. (I sure have a little stinker.) Also he likes hide and seek.

Activity to play with Sissy- Wrestling her

Words to say- Dadadada

Daddy's favorite thing- His smile and that he is always happy.

Mommy's favorite thing- Cam's big (I mean HUGE) smile and big hugs. (Best baby hugger I have ever seen).

Berkie's favorite thing-"Riding on his Bebra (zebra) with him and playing with his toys."
We love our sweet little boy and can't believe he is growing so fast. Every day he learns something new. Although some days are busy and hard, I love every moment with my kids and am very thankful for them both.

Muffin Tin Monday and Cameron walking

Brooklynn
We did Muffin Tin Monday yesterday, because today we had plans. Since this week had no theme we decided to do a Fiesta lunch. Cheese Quesadillas with Ranch, Chips with salsa and guacamole, colorful M&M cookies and a yummy skittle filled mini pinata. (Thanks to Staci for showing me how to make them.) Also Brooklynn has some cousins who are part Hispanic and bilingual. So I gave Brooklynn some Spanish learning cards to practice some words. Everytime we go over there Brooklynn starts talking in Spanish with her cousin. So I thought it would be a good tool for her to practice.

Brooklynn
She liked the cookies the best of course. But she had fun dipping, always a favorite in our house. Not to mention the mini pinatas that we have done a few times now.

Brooklynn
Thanks to Erin for this cute hairstyle I copied. I thought I would try it on Brooklynn. It looked cute for about 1 hour. And then Brooklynn gets WAY too wild and it was totally falling apart by the end of church.

I can't believe how good my little Cam walks now. He will be 10 months at the end of this week, CRAZY HUH? He definitely takes after his runner daddy. Way to go Cameron!

Muffin Tin Monday and baby food

We did Muffin Tin Monday for dinner on Monday night. The theme was Party/celebrate. So I did things that you might have at a summer party. Hot dogs and beans, celery (finger food), jell-o and a cookie. YUM! I love summer to BBQ up some hot dogs. YUM!

I decided that it is just too expensive to keep buying baby food. So I made some. I made sweet potatoes, peas and one little thing of squash. Normally to buy that much baby food would cost $4-5. To make it cost me just under $1. He has tried the sweet potatoes and loved it. YAY for saving money!

Lone Pine Cabin

About a week ago we went with my brother and his family to our cabin. It is shared with my mom's family and I love to go there. It was built when I was just a baby and I try to make it there at least once a year. We have so much fun. Ryan has great memories going there when we were just dating. My family initiated Ryan and my cousin's husband Shane into the family when we were just dating them. Before we got the septic tank, they got to bury the treasure. (I won't go into anymore details)

I brought paints up for Brooklynn and Caleb. They went and found some rocks and let their imaginations run wild. They had fun doing it.

After all that dirt, it was nice to see some beautiful flowers up there.

We went to a lake nearby to fish. Unfortunately after about 10 minutes it started to rain. We would have tried to stick it out, but with a 9 month old and a 6 month old, we decided to go back to the cabin.

The kids loved helping with the fire. We were so excited to make s'mores and guess who left the chocolate in the small cooler at home. (It was me.) We realized it was too little and didn't transfer the things over. I put them in there the day before so I wouldn't forget to pack them. OOPS!

One of my favorite parts was watching the humming birds. We would sometimes get 5 at a time, but of course never had the camera ready. It was really cool.

Cameron had fun and he was a busy boy. So many new things to explore. Mommy had a fun time chasing after him and trying to baby proof the place. I love my cute boy, he sure helps me get in my dailey exercise.

Brooklynn loved the cabin and had a blast. She remembers a lot from last year and was wondering where the lizard went and the cabin dog. (My cousin brought her dog last year.) Brooklynn is standing in front of my tree that I planted when I was probably about her age. Don't you love her dirty feet? I had to get a picture, she didn't even care. This is the girl that at least 3 times a day cleans out her toes.
