Space Chimps

Last week I wasn't feeling well and came home from work early. Poor Berkie was stuck in the house Friday night and most of Saturday. Since I was feeling better I decided to take her to a movie. We were going to go see Wall-E but when we got to the theatre Brooklynn chose Space Chimps (of course she loves monkeys). I was worried that she wouldn't do well because previously she couldn't sit through a whole movie but she did really good. She loved it and laughed alot and even got worrried some times for them. Ryan had to work but one of Ryan's favorite actors played the voice of Titan (Patrick Warburton). We'll have to rent it so Ryan can see it. Brooklynn told me that her favorite was Luna, My favorite was the little alien Kilowat that sings. What a cute show. We had so much fun.

24th of July Parade

This year I took Brooklynn to the parade with my sister Terra. Ryan hates going places are are super crowded, so he was glad he had plans to go Mountain biking. (which it wasn't bad, we had a great spot right in the front on the street) We had a lot of fun, the night before I was all excited and told Brooklynn tomorrow we are going to a parade. She looked at me and said, "What's a parade?" I told her there are floats and clowns. Again she said "What's a clown?" So I explained that a clown is like what is on the show Jojo's circus. She then got really excited and told us "I'm gonna see a lion." (Jojo has a pet lion) Poor Berkie didn't see the lion. Once we got to the parade Brooklynn was still confused and waiting for the Clowns and lion. Once the parade starting really going she enjoyed herself. She loved the floats and some floats that she really liked was one with the Pirates, puppies and princesses, she also enjoyed the two clowns but they went by really fast. For me the best moment was I was looking at Brooklynn and she was looking up smiling and pointing at a car driving by. All of the sudden I look up and realize that President Monson was looking at Brooklynn and pointing at her also. I freaked out and grabbed my camera. Berkie stayed with Terra and I ran up ahead and was able to get a few pictures. I wish I got a better shot though. I told Brooklynn that was the prophet but she still recognizes Pres. Hinkley as the prophet, she will learn though. So overall we had a good time. Then we came home and we were pooped, so was Ryan especially in two days he road biked like 30 something miles and then mountain biked. It took us all day and we still didn't want to do anything else. So we got dinner and then we went on a walk behind our house. We were hoping to see some deer but no luck, they were all probably hiding from the fireworks. Then we had popcycles and went to bed. Kinda boring but we still had a fun day.

Memory Lane

So I really like this new post I am copying from about 5 of my friends blogs so I thought I would give it a try. I realize this is perfect opportunity for everyone to harass me. Just beware, if you share something I don't like I may just have to post something equally embarrassing about you.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I or you and Ryan had together or both. If your husband is my husband's friend, get the dirt. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is the most memorable for you.

2. Next, if you feel so inclined, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you...!

3. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Binkybunny (one word)

So here I am again, the middle of the night, longing to fall asleep. It's been about a month of this so far and I try so many things: reading, watching tv, laying in bed in silence, sleeping pills do not work either... nothing has helped. So tonight I am thinking I wish I could sleep like Brooklynn, she is such a great sleeper.

Here is a background. At 4 months Berkie started sleeping through the night, after that she didn't wake up once until she was about 10 months old and got sick. After the illness left she was sleeping like... well like a baby. At 2 1/2 she's had some troubled nights here and there but still sleeps a good 9 hours. How does she do it you ask.... This is how it began. (Aside from a few tricks that I got from a video that Grandma Ann let me borrow.)
When we got back from getting Brooklynn, my little sis Terra welcomed her new neice to two big baskets full of gifts. Included in one of the baskets was a cute, pink, fluffy bunny. It was so cute and nice of Terra. I decide to keep this cute bunny in the end of Brooklynn's bed.
At first we noticed Brooklynn like rubbing her stuffed animals on her hands, cheeks and even rubs them on her eyelashes.
Then we noticed she was especially attached to this cute pink bunny.I thought "how cute she has her own little woobie" HA!!! Soon I replaced "how cute" with "OH NO!" Brooklynn absolutely HAD to sleep with it. (We realized that one night when she was 7 months old at our cabin and Berkie cried all night, because we couldn't find it in the dark.)
Two years later, binkybunny is essential if you want Brooklynn to sleep. I can't even wash it much, number one every time I remember to wash it, it's time for bed. Second in fear that it will fall apart and Berk will become an insomniac like her mom. Ignore the gross pictures of it, I realized how discusting it was and I do wash it a lot more.
I really think it is darling that she has a woobie, I just hope she is not 15 and calls me at a sleepover to bring it to her. Or is married and there is binkybunny right in the middle of her bed. We love her little binkybunny, I am acctually considering investing in one, maybe it will help me.

Budd Family Cabin

Berkie loved playing in the dirt. But she did not like all the bugs.

A little photographer, Brooklynn found the camera and took this of herself.

Berkie, after Hobbs (Rachel and Shanes dog) stole her poptart. She was not happy, but she got over it cause she loved that dog.

It was fun this year at the cabin, I was a little younger than Brooklynn when it was built so it was neat to see how much she enjoyed herself.

I took this of Rachel right after she woke up.

Brooklynn, Grandma Bean and Terra in front of the cabin.

Ryan and Shane look like they are up to something, don't they? They spent most their time at the cabin 4-wheeling and playing horseshoes.

We all had a blast.

4th of July fun!

We had so much fun this 4th of July. We swam, had a big slide, did fireworks and had a BBQ. I think the adult boys had more fun than the little kids on the slide.

Happy (Late) Birthday Mama Oldroyd

Yesterday was my mother-in-law's birthday. Well I already wrote a lot about her on Mother's day but we wanted to say Happy Birthday, and how much we appreciate her and all she does for us. She is always willing to help babysit and do what is needed. We all love her and hope she knows we appreciate everything.

Ryan bought this old cruiser bike like 5 years ago and fixed it up. When we lived with his parents Ryan's mom loved this bike and really liked to ride it. When we moved she was sad and wished we would leave the bike.

Well now that Ryan has 6 bikes he realized that he really didn't need it anymore. So with his brothers and sisters everyone pitched in and Ryan fixed the bike up nice. (Made a couple mechanical changes and to look prettier) and decided to give it to his mom for her birthday.

I think she really liked it, we might add a bell or basket or something.

Hope you had a very happy birthday. We love you!

Pregnancy Update

22 weeks & 4 days... I went to the doctor on Thursday, since I found out I was pregnant I have gained 12 pounds total. Just in the last month I gained 5 of those pounds. WOW! Well I am measuring about 2 weeks bigger and that doctor said that he feels like a 2 pounder already, that is big. I hope he just had a growth spurt cause if he keeps growing like that he is going to be huge. My heart rate wasn't 160 again, it was in the 90's, good thing. Luckily I don't get as many headaches that keep me up all night. I have been woken up, & through out the day by getting really dizzy/fainty and had really restless legs though. Our doctor said that sometimes the baby and the uterus take most of the blood and it doesn't leave much for you. (Well we know he's doing good, he's a big healthy boy) So I have to double my water intake and that should help with the blood flow. Ryan will not like that, more bathroom trips than I already take. It does not sound fun this weekend either staying at our cabin, with an outhouse. YIKES! I will have to tell you how that goes. So everything looks good, still no names though. We are working on it.

Brooklynn's hair

Brooklynn was born with black curly hair and very olive skin.

When she started to rub it all off it came in a lot lighter and straight. Oh no, her beautiful curls. Her skin got very light and fair.

Her curls came back and her hair got dark again. Her skin is still very fair. She is so lucky to have such beautiful hair, she probably won't always think so but I love it.

Last week she got her hair cut and I straightened her hair and thought she looked so different. She looks like a little girl now, she's not my baby anymore. About 20 minutes after this picture her curls came back.
