How many bikes does one person need?

Well Ryan loves riding bikes and now it seems like he loves collecting them too. So he finally found a road bike, after months of searching. He was so happy. But how many bikes does one person need? Well for Ryan it turns out that 6 is the perfect amount. We counted last night and since Ryan was 19 years old he has had 13 bikes total. So here are some of Ryan's bikes.

Ryan also has a unicycle that I do not have a picture of. Most of these bikes Ryan got for under $100 and he spent a lot of time fixing up himself. His Mountain Bike and his Road bike are the nice bikes that he will use most of the time. I just thought I would do a little blog on his bikes, since Ry is so very excited to have all the bikes he wants. Boys and their toys. :)

What an outfit!

Last week before I went to work, I was sick and didn't get Brooklynn dressed and her hair done. Well one of Brooklynn's favorite things to do is dress up. Almost every morning she goes in her room and gets all her dress up clothes on. This is what she looks like. The cute little butterfly antanna's and the wand is a must wear for her.
Well while at work I talked to Ryan and he was very proud of himself. He did Brooklynn's hair all by himself. I told him to take a picture. The pic below is the pony tail that Ryan did. Wow he did such a good job. What a good daddy! Brooklynn looks so cute.

This might change your vote...

So since the guy determines the sex of the baby we have to think about Ryan's family history. Let's go all the way back to Grandpa Oldroyd. He had a girl first (Linda). Linda has 3 boys Steve, Tom and Mike. We are thinking that Steve and Tom did have a boy first (Correct me if I am wrong) But Mike had a girl first. Next there is John. He had Jenny Joe, first another girl. John's son Sam's wife is pregnant with twins and there is a boy and a girl. Then my father-in-law Ron had a girl first Allyson. After that was 3 boys Jeff, Eric and my Ryan. Jeff's first there were twins and there was a boy and a girl, Eric and Danielle had a girl first as well. So we are pretty much counting on a girl. So what do you think? But for about a week Brooklynn has been telling me that she has a girl in her tummy and mommy has a boy that is her friend. So I don't know.

16 weeks

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday. I first got weighed and have gained 2 1/2 pounds in a month. Then she was checking my blood pressure and noticed that my pulse was way high. It was 160. The doctor came in and asked if everything was alright and I said I just get nervous before each appointment. By the end of the appointment it was down to 90. The baby was moving around a lot and the heart beat was 155. Everything looks good. Now we just wait 2-3 weeks until we find out if it's a boy or a girl. What do you think we are having?

7 years of Eternal Bliss

Today is our 7 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe how fast time flies. It was such a wonderful day, marrying my Ryan. Since I was a little girl I have always loved Cinderella. I truly felt like Cinderella that day marrying my prince charming. I still do. Though we have had many trials along the way, I feel that they have only made us stronger. I feel more love for him now than I ever have. I am so lucky to have a great guy, who takes such good care of me.
Tonight we are going out to dinner and this is only the 2nd or 3rd time in 2 1/2 years that we have gone out to dinner with out Brooklynn. It will be nice to just be together.

At the Salt Lake Temple with my love, Ryan.
My flower girls and me, showing off our rings. (Can you believe how little they are?)

Look at these studly guys.
That was my cake. I loved it, it didn't taste good, but it was cute.

Look what they did to Ryan's jeep. A year later there was still confetti flying out of the vents.
My bride's maid's getting their good luck charms from the cake.
Josh and the band playing us a song they wrote for us.

Our first dance to Look at You Girl by Chris Ledoux.
Thanks Ry, for 7 wonderful years. Can I keep you?

Happy Birthday Ally!

Allyson is my sister-in-law (Ryan's big sis.) and today is her birthday! Happy Birthday!

Allyson is very silly and has a great sense of humor. She is just getting into running and really enjoys it. Allyson loves to read, can you believe that she had read the 3 books of the Twilight series 4 times each. I am still getting through my first time. Ally is married to Wyatt and she has 4 kids Alex, Kassie, Connor and Savannah. What a cute family.

Happy Birthday Kassie May

Happy Birthday Kassie May! Kassandra is my neice and she turned 9 years old today. She is a silly girl. She loves to play jokes on people and talk a lot.
For her birthday (and celebrating a few others) the Ekins family rents a pool in Tooele and we all go swimming. It was a lot of fun. Ryan had to work so Grandpa Oldroyd took Brooklynn down the big slide. She wouldn't let anyone else take her. Even when Eric would just talk to her she responded "NO!" She thought he was asking her if he could take her down. It was funny.
These are some older pictures of Kassie. She has always had such a strong, outgoing personality. Brooklynn reminds me a lot of Kassie.
Here is Kassie with her cousins Katie and Bailey and her sister Alex. Hope you have had a great Birthday Kassie. We love you.

Happy Mother's Day

I am so lucky to have been blessed with a sweet little girl. I love being a mom and it truly is the hardest job there is but the rewards are endless. It took us so long to get Brooklynn but it was worth the wait.

This picture was taken in our hotel in Washington, waiting 10 days to bring her back home to meet her family.

Now who couldn't love this face? It's hard not to fall for this little thing especially when she say's "PLEEEEEAAAAASE!" with a cute smile.

Brooklynn and me love spending time together and I hope that she will always want to be with me and keep a good relationship.

My mom sent me this in an email, I thought it was beautiful and of course I cried. It is so true. It is amazing how these little people (that sometimes drive you crazy) can bring so much joy.

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on.Chewed on.Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night. Before I was a MomI never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Ryan and I have two great mom's, they both are great examples and friends.

My mom- Janeen Dennis

My mom is a great mom and wonderful grandma. She now has two grandkids and another on the way. She couldn't wait to start having grandkids at one of my wedding showers 7 years ago, she gave me two little baby dolls and said get working. (as a joke of course) But she really couldn't wait. Who would have thought it would be almost 5 years later to get our special Brooklynn. Grandma Bean and Brooklynn have a special bond. And she gets spoiled from her grandma. Brooklynn loves playing with Grandma Bean and especially going outside in the back yard with her. I am so glad that Brooklynn has such a fun wonderful grandma.

I am so thankful for my mom and what a wonderful person she is. She has gone through a lot of trials and stayed strong and close to our Heavenly Father. She always put us kids first. We are all very close to my mom and she is a lot of fun. I have always been able to talk to her about anything and know that she would never judge me. She has a special quality that she gets along with anyone. We love you mom ,I hope I can be as good as a mom and she is.

Ryan's mom- Susan Oldroyd

Susan is a proud grandma of 13 grandkids, and she handles them all so well. Especially when we all ask her to babysit every day of the week. She is always willing to help us out and spend time with the grandkids. Even when we don't ask because we know how much she does it, she offers. Brooklynn loves going over to Grandma Oldroyd's. She thinks that everytime she goes over there she can have a popcycle. And she also loves laying in Grandma's big bed. I am so glad that Brooklynn has such a loving grandma.

Susan is a great mom and an example of someone who can get through anything and continue to strive. As Susan's daughter-in-law she is very kind to us all and always wants to be there for us with whatever we need. I know that all her kids look up to her and love her so much. Ryan is so proud of his mom and we recognize all of her Christ-like qualities. We love you Susan and hope we can be as great of parents as you are.

I just wanted to wish Nanci a Happy Birthday. Nanci is my sister-in-law who married Ryan's brother Jeff.
Nanci is very nice and it has been fun getting to know her over the last few years. She is a fun person to be around and always has a smile.

Nanc, hope you had a great birthday! PS Brooklynn keeps singing "Happy Birthday to you..."

My Ryan...

Well I just wanted to say how much I love and appreciate Ryan. He is such a good husband, daddy and friend. I have not felt well for a few weeks and he has helped out so much around the house and with Berkie.

Once he even helped me crochet when I had two blankets to make. He must really love me.

We have been together for 8 years now and he has always been so supportive and understanding. We have been through a lot and I am so thankful to have such a great best friend and husband.

When Ryan sets his mind to something, he can accomplish it. He is very talented and amazes me everyday.

Ryan is such a good daddy. Brooklynn loves him so much.

I love Ryan with all my heart and appreciate his hard work and devotion to Brooklynn and me. I am so grateful I have Ryan in my life and hope he always knows how much I love him.
