Caleb's 1 year pictures

Well Caleb is almost 1 years old and we decided to take his picture. What a little stinker, that boy won't sit still for a second. So we did the best we could, even with Brooklynn trying to get in the picture saying "CHEESE!" But I think it looks ok considering. So here it is my little nephew Caleb.

Rock On!

On Friday night we decided that we were going to go over to Eric and Danielle's house. So we played Rock Band. It is a really fun game. The kidsjoined in the fun too, Tyler even played some bass. Then all the kids dressed up, what cute girls... even Tyler makes a cute girl :) Later that night the kids were a little tuckered out and decided to lay in Abbie's bed and read stories.

Totally Milking it...

So Jacob got home from his mission in Uruguay, the end of January. (the day before Amber's birthday.) It was fun to see Jake. It was crazy for him to come home to a neice and nephew. When Jacob left Brooklynn was only about 4 weeks old. On Jake's mission he had a cyst, in an undisclosed location, he did surgery and was still miserable for half of his mission. So he came home he had to get a 2nd surgery so he stayed at our house for a few days. I told him that I would take care of him and be a good little mommy. We were worried it would be as bad as his first surgery, it wasn't.

He was totally milking it though. He could get up and walk around fine and one day I was in the kitchen I had just made him and Amber lunch and I was cleaning up. Jake and Amber were on the couch watching tv. Jake yelled "Danielle?" and Amber looked at Jake "What do you need?" Jake just shook his head and said it again... "Danielle?" So I came in to see what he needed. "Hey can you hand me the remote?" He thought it was so funny, Amber and I just rolled our eyes. I really didn't mind, I told him I would take care of him. Ryan and Jake had a lot of fun playing video games together. Well after about 3 weeks of being home he decided it was time to leave again. Jake moved to Logan and just got a job at Zion's Bank. Now our whole family is back home.

Thanksgiving was really fun. This year we ate dinner with my side of the family. We went to my uncle Jim's house. The next day I went with Danielle and we did our annual Day after Thanksgiving shopping. We had too much fun. Christmas, we had a really nice holiday. On Christmas Eve we went to Aunt Linda's house and had dinner and all the kids opened their one gift. After that we stopped off at my mom's house and visited with Terra and my mom. Christmas morning was so much fun Brooklynn loved opening presents but she didn't look at what she got until every peice of the wrapping paper was off the gift. She loved all her stuff, Santa really spoiled her this year. We then went to Grandma Oldroyd's to have breakfast and opened more presents. Brooklynn's favorite was this little Mickey Mouse from one of Eric and Danielle's kids (I can't remember which one.) It was a lot of fun. We didn't celebrate Christmas with the Dennis Family this year because Terra had just recently got home, Josh and Johana and Caleb were spending about 3 weeks in Honduras visiting Johana's family and Jacob Budd was still on his mission. So we decided to postpone it until later when everyone was home. Christmas night though my mom and Terra came over to see what Brooklynn got and my mom did give her one gift. We just celebrated it in February. I was so excited the night before I called everyone and resited 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.... Brooklynn even wore a red dress and that night she wore her Christmas pajamas. Everyone, including Ryan thought I was a little too excited for our Christmas in February. But I am a kid at heart, I love all holidays and sometimes I get carried away. But that is okay. We had fun.

Bates Motel...

In October Brooklynn, myself and my mom (Grandma Bean) went to Montana to pick up my sister Terra from her mission. It was great, first we stopped in Yellowstone (it was my first time going there) and we took some great pictures. The next day we went to the mission home to get Terra. We were so nervous and excited and we went up to the front door and it was locked so we walked around the whole building and all the doors seemed to be locked. We could see everyone's shadows from the window and we knew we were a few minutes late but we didn't know what to do, we were trying to avoid embarrassing Terra. We had thought about knocking on the door that was cracked open but you could see someone was sitting in front of it. Finally we went around to the kitchen door and walked in. Terra was so happy to see us she was worried thought that something might have happened to us. We were unsure why, we were only a few minutes late. Come to find out we were an hour late. OOPS, looks like we got the wrong info. It was so much fun seeing Terra and spending that week with her and seeing her mission areas. Brooklynn absolutely loved her I thought Brooklynn was a wild child but get her and Terra together two crazy girlies. My favorite place was Townsend, Montana. It was this little tiny town about a mile long, After driving through the town two times we decided to settle on the only motel we could find. It was this little (Bates) Motel. It seemed deserted, we were a little scared. In our room there were two doors one was the bathroom. The other was this locked door that you couldn't open from our side. We would make up stories of what could happen to us at night. (That is what I get for watching too many scary movies.) It was really nice to see her. We had a lot of fun on our trip. Terra works at Great Harvest and also a Group home. She is also going to school to be a Teacher. Busy girl.

Fun Filled Summer

We had a Zoo pass and Lagoon pass so we had a lot of fun during the summer. Brooklynn loved the Zoo and knows almost every animal. I am thinking about getting another zoo pass. Lagoon was more fun for the adults. It's too bad that Brooklynn didn't realize that she liked the rides until the last two times we went to Lagoon. But we sure used the passes a lot. I think we went to the Zoo probably 10 times and Lagoon about that also. We had a blast. Hopefully we can have as much fun. Ryan left LDS Hospital and now works at Intermountain Medical Center in Shock Trauma ICU. He really enjoys it, but he says it is a lot more stress. (No more napping at work). I really enjoyed staying home with Brooklynn, but I now work a few days a week at Stampin' UP, it is really fun and Brooklynn loves spending time with her Grandma Oldroyd and her cousins Caleb and Savannah. (Even if she doesn't like to share.)

Our angel for time and all eternity.

After 5 years of waiting for a baby we got Brooklynn December 28,2005. We thought the hard part was over. It only took 14 months to make the adoption official. When it came we were so excited. On March 15,2007 (The same day Caleb was born) we went to court and it was final. We were so thrilled. April 7, 2007 Brooklynn was sealed to us in the Salt Lake Temple. My fears of her getting taken away from us left. What a great time in our lives. And what a sweet angel we were blessed with.

I am a blogger now

Well I guess I joined the club. I am now a blogger.

I guess I will start with all the babies...

Well first off there was 4 babies born. Feb 15th Savannah Grace Ekins was born. (Allyson and Wyatt), March 14th Caleb Joshua Dennis (Joshua and Johana), May 31st Chase Ron Oldroyd (Eric and Danielle) and Last Sept. 23rd Gracie K Oldroyd (Jeff and Nanci) Lots of babies so that makes 13 grandchildren on the Oldroyd side and 2 on the Dennis side.

Well the next few blogs will be referring to last year Hope you all enjoy!
