Painters Half Marathon

Photobucket
About a week ago we went down to St. George for Ryan to run a Half Marathon. Luckily we got there in time to see Ryan finish.

Photobucket Perfect Picture Pose right at the finish line.

Photobucket
There is my Superman and little girly!

Photobucket It was really cold waiting for the Awards.

Photobucket
I was really happy that Cam finally got cozy and fell asleep. He really needed a nap.

Photobucket
Brooklynn our little Poser. It wasn't raining but she liked her accessory.

Photobucket
Wahoo! Go Ry. He got 12th overall and 2nd in his age group. We are so proud of Ryan and all his accomplishments.

Photobucket Grandpa Oldroyd ran the 5K. He did really good too. He got 4th place and was only about 20 seconds from 3rd place. He would have gotten a trophy too. But we are still proud of him.

Photobucket Since it was cold we stayed in the condo most of the time. This was the only time Cameron stayed still for more than a few minutes. He is a busy boy and had a lot of fun with all the Wii controllers and remotes.

Photobucket Brooklynn was really good the whole time and always found something to do. Except for the first night when Cameron was up all night. Both kids were so good and slept great. Brooklynn was very proud of herself that she slept on the bed in the living room all by herself.

Photobucket Ryan kept himself busy playing Super Mario Brothers on the Wii. Although a few times he almost threw the controller. Thank goodness for the safety strap. I also have to add that I beat everyone at bowling. Wahoo! Normally I suck.

Photobucket We did go out to the playground one day. It was wet and sticky and after both kids sat in a puddle on the slide. We figured we might as well just let them get dirty anyways.

Photobucket These little horsies are so much fun.

Photobucket Cam did pretty good at getting on and off and moving around.

Photobucket Brooklynn is getting a lot more brave with slides. She even went down on her tummy face first. Go Berkie!

Photobucket
Cameron LOVED it! He kept going up the stairs down the slide. We had a lot of fun on our little trip. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Oldroyd for letting us come with you for a couple days.

4 Year old and 15 Month Stats!

Brooklynn turned 4 years old and is getting so big. She has always been pretty tall for her age and very skinny. She is now average for height and maybe she will have pants that don't turn into floods in a couple months. Poor little Berkie is healthy but she has to start back at Physical Therapy again. So we have gotta start practicing our exercises again.

Height- 40 Inches (50%)

Weight- 34.5 Pounds (40%)

Brooklynn loves to play dolls, polly's, littlest pet shops and with her stuffed animals. She changes her outfits about 3 times a day and loves her pj's. Brooklynn just learned how to spell Brooke and mom this last month, she is a little smartie. She loves to sing and dance and told me she can't wait to do it on a stage for everyone to watch and hear. Brooklynn loves to draw and paint and is very good at it and it amazes me seeing some of her pictures. Brooklynn is a little OCD and I think she gets it from me. She reorganizes her room just about every other day. It drives me crazy, but I sure love this girl.

Cam, Oh my little buddy. He changes and gets bigger every day. He is a skinny tall little guy with a big noggin. He has no health problems and is always our happy busy little guy. He HATE getting 5 shots at the doctor. OUCH! His 7th tooth just broke through this last week and it's been hard but he loves chompin' on his food.

Height- 32 Inches (75%)

Weight-22.6 Pounds (25%)

Cameron does not really like kid toys, but big boy toys. He loves remotes, phones and video game controllers. He loves teasing his sister and is pretty good at it. Cam has the best smile and gives a great grumpy face also. He is a busy body and all over the place. This little Curious George is our little monkey that climbs on EVERYTHING. He just discovered his voice about a month ago and doesn't stop talking. Too bad I can't speak his language. I love this boy, although he keeps me on my toes, it is worth every minute.

My sweet kids... Please stop getting bigger.

Cameron always goes to bed at 7:30. I lay him in bed, he rolls over and I don't hear a peep out of him until 7am the next morning. Last night he kept crying and I was trying hard to just let him cry. BUT I am a sucker for a crying baby. I went in his room after almost 10 minutes. I picked him up and rocked him. He fell asleep within a minute. He just wanted his mommy's love. Even though my day is spent getting Cameron off the table and counters and putting back the safety things back in the plugs and getting him off the table again. Turning the tv back on for Brooklynn, since Cameron loves to turn it on and off. Then chasing him back and putting some random thing that he should have back away. And putting the chairs back and getting him off the counter again. I sure do love this kid. (And people wonder why our chairs are upside down underneath our table.)

Last night after Cameron went to sleep Brooklynn and I were reading a few verses in the Book of Mormon. We read the part about Lehi telling the people that if they don't repent Jerusalem would be destroyed. Brooklynn said "what is repent again?"
I told her that when we do something wrong we pray to Heavenly Father and tell him sorry and say that we won't do it again. Brooklynn said "OOOOOOHHHH! Like CTR. Choose the Right." I told her yes. If we choose the right than Heavenly Father is very happy and proud of us. I finished the scripture and she asked "what is destroyed?" I explained it is like if something gets ruined, so if they didn't repent then the place they lived wouldn't be a nice pretty place anymore. Brooklynn said "Ooohhhh!" (whenever she understands something she always does a big long OOOOHHHH!) She continued "So then it would be taken away from them." She is so funny and always interested in learning about the gospel. After reading 4 verses with her she was just looking at all the pictures in the Book and came across Christ on the Cross. I went to turn the page and Brooklynn said. "Mom, I am not scared of this picture anymore. Jesus is 'serected' and happy in Heaven with his family and friends." I am so proud of Brooklynn and her sweet spirit she brings to our home.

Random

Most of these are from 2 weeks ago. Cam was pretty sick and I am just getting to the pictures and blog.

In the morning she was in our bed and we got up about 7am. When I noticed she had blood all over her I checked in her bed. All she said was my nose was dripping. I can't believe that she didn't wake us up or say anything. I couldn't believe that all that blood and it was no where to be found. Ryan woke up a couple hours later and there was blood all over his pillow. He looked in the mirror and he didn't have a bloody nose. "Oh well" he thought.

I went in our room to make our bed and saw it. I realized that she got the bloody nose in the morning when she came in our bed about 6:00. Poor thing. She didn't say anything to us. At least it was an exuse for me to wash our sheets. But she hasn't had one before or since.

Cameron got an Elmo remote for Christmas and he has a couple play phones. Nope, he is too smart. He knows that those aren't the real things. So we have to take batteries out of the controllers for him to play with. He loves playing XBox and Wii just like daddy. We also have our old phone and keep the battery charged for him so it makes sounds for him to push the buttons and he knows how to make the ringer ring. Silly little boy. Cameron always sits on chairs and in his carseat with his legs crossed. What a little cutie.

Two weeks ago for Work of Art Wednesday Brooklynn made these cute flowers for her Grandma and Aunt Johana for their birthday celebration. She loves doing projects and I started doing better about doing more fun projects with her.

She is so intense when she is coloring, painting and concentrating.I love how she sticks her little tongue out.

Here is the finished project. She made 8 all together. Pretty good for a 4 year old.(I made the leaves) She is a perfectionist and gets mad if things don't turn out how she invisions them.

A few weeks ago we went out and played in the snow. Cam HATED it. He didn't want to play in the snow. He didn't like being all bundled up. He didn't even like sitting in the sled. I ended up getting him his wiggle car out and he had fun for about 5 more minutes. But he sure looked cute!

Brooklynn on the other hand had a blast. She tried to make a snow man and snow angel. Didn't work too well though. She played in the sled and just rolled around in the snow. We don't play out in the cold too much because of Brooklynn's lungs. If she gets a cold that usually means the next week of coughing, staying up at night, not breathing and throwing up. She had been asking since the last snow storm and I let her. She had a blast.

The snow wasn't sticky and we couldn't make a big snowman but we were able to make a little snowman. Though it isn't the cutest. We couldn't even gets the eyes and arms to stay in. But Brooklynn was satisfied. Introducing Brooklynn's snowman Lyno. (Don't ask she has the silliest names she makes up. Sometimes my name is Mamma Cocoa.)

Birthdays, Birthdays and more Birthdays...

December is full of Birthdays there are 4. But January is worse with both sides of the family we have 5. CRAZY. So I realized today that I never posted Brooklynn's birthday pictures. Also here are 4 of the 5 birthdays in January.

Photobucket
With my family we celebrated it early with Ryan's. Brooklynn got some fun stuff. She loves her guitar from Aunt Terra and Uncle Jake. I have a funny video I will post later showing her play it.

Photobucket
On her acctual birthday we just had a celebration with our little family of 4. She opened a few little gifts and we ate cupcakes and had icecream.

Photobucket
With the Oldroyd's we celebrated it with her Grandpa's birthday. She got fun stuff there too. She loves dresses and got 3 new ones with cute tights. And a panda and Miley Cyrus cd. I made brownies for her and they turned out hard and crispy. No one ate them. I brought them home and they tasted good, just a little crunchy.

Photobucket
Grandpa Oldroyd is getting old. He turned 60. We gave him some old man gifts. He got a hearing aide and some glasses to help him see better. And a few other fun stuff. We didn't want the house to burn down so we didn't put 60 seperate candles on.

Photobucket
Last Sunday we celebrated my mom's, Johana's and Zack's birthdays. Poor little Zacky got 4 items that he already. OOPS! We all got together and bought my mom and Johana a Wii. (They all live together in the Survivor Dennis house) They were excited and we set it up and started playing games that night. My mom even went and bought 3 games to go with it the next day.

Photobucket
They each had their own cake to blow out the candles. My mom loves German Chocolate, Johana had Tres` Leche and Zacky had his own little cake too. (Johana's cake was DELICIOUS YUM!!!)

We have had fun celebrating all the birthdays the last two months. One more to go for January and then it calms down a little bit.
